How it works
Aporia International provides executive reflection coaching for senior leaders to strengthen decision-making, surface cognitive bias, and improve strategic judgement.
We provide a focused, fractional reflection role—delivered through regularly structured sessions—dedicated to disciplined thinking and critical examination rather than operational advice or consultancy.
Our coaches operate entirely outside your organisation and hold no stake in outcomes or decisions. Their sole purpose is to act as a rigorous intellectual counterweight to internal thinking, supporting leaders in reaching conclusions that are better aligned with their own reasoning, evidence, and confidence calibration.
Features
Critical Reflective Practice
We create deliberate space for slow thinking, perspective shifts, and grounded reasoning. Leaders are supported in moving beyond reflexive responses to examine complex problems from multiple angles, with careful attention to uncertainty, evidence, and bias.
Socratic Method
Our work is grounded in the Socratic method: systematic questioning and dialectical reasoning that underpins modern philosophy and science.
Non-Directive
We do not give advice or supply answers. Insight is generated by the client through structured inquiry. Our role is to provide a disciplined method for evaluating existing understanding—challenging assumptions, testing reasoning, and strengthening judgement—without imposing opinions, solutions, or desired outcomes.
Fully remote
All our session are managed remotely and accessible anywhere in the world.
Fully confidential
We operate a strict confidentiality policy, ensuring that all sessions are confidential and that no information is shared outside of the session, including with other members of your own organisation.
Focus on the individual
We prioritize the individual's needs and goals, tailoring the coaching experience to their unique circumstances and preferences. We do not run group sessions or offer group coaching.
You are in control
You are in control of the sessions. You can schedule them at your convenience and choose the topics you want to discuss. We can help you reflect on topics that may be useful for your personal or professional development.
Human review
Every session is recorded and reviewed at least once prior to the next session to ensure that the session was productive and that the coach was able to generate maximum value and appropriate follow-up insights.
Human-generated notes
After each session, your coach will provide short, constructive notes highlighting the key aspects of the session and potential areas of attention.
Critical or ad-hoc sessions available
We offer critical or ad-hoc sessions for individuals who need immediate support or guidance. These sessions are designed to address specific issues or concerns and can be scheduled on short notice.
Let's talk
For leaders who recognise the risks of unexamined confidence, the next step is a private, confidential diagnostic conversation.
